In 1263, Colin of Kintail, Chief of Clan Mackenzie dared to defend and save the King of Scotland, Alexander III by killing the deer that attacked the King. To show his gratitude, the King endowed the bottle with the emblem of the stag with 12 horns, a symbol that continues to adorn Dalmore bottles to this day.
Aged for 12 years in American white oak bourbon casks, then split into equal parts which mature in different barrel styles, Amoroso, Apostoles and Mathusalem oloroso.
Aromas of jam and ripe fruit combine harmoniously with cinnamon and nuts. Oilier mouth than 12 Y.O. with complexity and finesse while the aftertaste is spicy and delightful.
